The training providers play a vital role to ensure the
completion of the period of a CARE. The training providers
should provide an environment in which graduates can gain
relevant experience that will develop their knowledge and skills
to become competent CA.
a)
Objectives
i.
To ensure that the practical experience is planned, supervised,
relevant and completed in an environment with high professional
standards.
ii.
To offer the opportunity for graduate trainees to carry out
accounting functions that will develop their knowledge and
skills as the trainee become competent CA.
iii.
To strengthen the level of organised supervision and training to
candidates as a matter of mutual benefit.
b)
Key Responsibilities
Therefore, the training providers must demonstrate that it meets
the CARE requirements. This include amongst others:
i.
To offer a range and depth of activities to enable graduates to
qualify for admission as a CA.
ii.
To appoint a mentor in charge to monitor graduates who undergo
the CARE.
iii.
To have quality of work processes and systems to monitor and
review a graduate’s progress.
iv.
To provide resources to aid staff development programme.
v.
To advise the Institute of any changes to the mentor in-charge,
structure or training plan.
